Author presentations: NOW ACCEPTING BOOKINGS!
Would you like me to come to your school or library for an author presentation? Here are some of my presentation choices:
Grades k-3: My 45 min presentation consists of:

a reading of my picture book I Dare You Not to Yawn

the A-B-C's of how to write a book

an exploration of how certain words, actions, and things can make you feel sleepy

an interactive ‘I Spy’ game showing the differences between the rough to final
draft of illustrations
Grades 4-8: My 60 min presentation consists of:

details about my tween novels in the Real Mermaids series

Power Writing Techniques, including
-
how to come up with a 'Big Idea'
-
story arc and outlining
-
adding tension and conflict to writing
-
writing in 5-dimensions (with all five senses)

the business of writing

Rates: $300 for one presentation, $500 for two, $700 for three, $900 for four
(max 4 sessions per day) plus travel from Markham, Ontario. HST extra.
Since I am a member of the Writers' Union of Canada, you may also apply for a
Writers-in-the-Schools grant to help subsidize a portion of the cost of my visit.
